Hi! My name is Liana Taylor. I am a Long Island, New York Native with a BA in Psychology from Binghamton University, a blogger, former educator and model. My passions include writing, reading, singing, and visiting art exhibitions among other things. In the Spring of 2020, as the world shut down and we bore witness to one of the greatest social justice movements of this generation, personal mental health struggles and the spirit of the movement inspired the birth of this platform. As a fervent advocate for mental heath and wellness, I hope to spread awareness and encourage conversation relating to topics of body focused repetitive behaviors and other stigmatized disorders through the lens of a young black woman living in America. I’ve learned so much just over the course of this year and despite countless difficulties, self doubt and hesitation, I feel a continued calling and responsibility to this platform that has already opened up an incredibly healing and supportive community to me. Thank you for taking the time to read this. I hope that the small slice of community you’ll find here on my blog will plant seeds of curiosity, hope and willingness to share your own unique and valuable story with the world.
